NASA's SPHEREx space telescope has produced new findings, published in The Astrophysical Journal, showing that brown dwarfs—objects straddling the line between stars and giant planets—possess chemically rich, cloudy atmospheres resembling those of giant exoplanets. The results help refine scientists' understanding of the boundary between stellar and planetary formation.
