GDACS and USGS recorded several moderate earthquakes on October 8 across the Asia-Pacific region, none reported to have caused significant damage or casualties. These included three quakes in Indonesia (magnitudes 4.7–4.9, affecting between 90,000 and 1.3 million people within 100 km), a magnitude 4.6 quake in Japan with no people reported affected, a magnitude 5.5 quake in the Philippines potentially affecting 2.4 million people at lower intensity, a deep magnitude 5.1 quake in Fiji, a magnitude 5.5 quake near Aleneva, Alaska, and a magnitude 4.7 quake near Korumburra, Australia.
