At least five Iranian military and police personnel were killed and several wounded in four separate armed attacks across southeastern Iran within a 24-hour period, according to rights group Haalvsh, continuing a pattern of violence targeting security forces in the restive Sistan-Baluchestan region. Separately, a police officer was killed when gunmen attacked a patrol near Zahedan. The attacks underscore persistent instability in Iran's southeast, a region long affected by ethnic Baloch insurgent activity and friction between local communities and security forces.
