Comedian Shane Gillis returned to host 'Saturday Night Live' on October 10, 2026, marking his third stint since being fired from the show in 2019. The episode featured a cold open with Colin Jost as an unhinged Pete Hegseth mocking Christa Pike's botched execution and RFK Jr.'s flu season rebranding, a Weekend Update segment ridiculing Trump over losing the Nobel Peace Prize, and a Dr. Seuss-themed sketch in which Gillis accidentally dropped an F-bomb on live television. Gillis also delivered a widely panned, rambling monologue about weight loss and public gyms, while musical guest Rosalia performed her 'Lux' track 'Reliquia' en pointe. Coverage around the episode also revisited why Gillis was originally fired from SNL in 2019 and explored his dating history ahead of the broadcast.
