A migrant boat carrying more than 300 people capsized near Guhere off the coast of Djibouti, resulting in at least 109 confirmed deaths and over 100 people still missing. Search and rescue operations were launched to locate survivors in what represents one of the deadliest maritime incidents involving migrants in recent months. The exact cause of the capsizing has not been determined, though the vessel was reportedly overcrowded, a common factor in such disasters affecting migrants attempting passage through the Red Sea region.
