Iran's hardline Kayhan newspaper accused former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif of aiding Washington and committing a 'suicidal attack' on Iran's security by depicting the Revolutionary Guards as a threat. Zarif responded by arguing that constructive engagement requires avoiding weakness and passivity, and separately mocked Secretary of State Rubio and his speechwriter over anti-Iranian remarks, saying neither appeared to understand their own statements.
