A series of moderate earthquakes, mostly in the magnitude 4.5-6.3 range, were recorded globally on October 11-12, 2026, including events in Japan (M4.6, 2,000 potentially affected), Indonesia (M5.3 and M4.5, up to 1.6 million potentially affected), El Salvador (M4.5, 20,000 affected), Alaska near Aleneva (M5.5), Vanuatu near Norsup (M6.3), and the Southern East Pacific Rise (M4.8, no people affected). All were classified as green alerts by GDACS, indicating minimal expected impact, with no deaths or damage reported.
