Mind Robotics, the secretive robotics startup launched by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe, announced it has hired Doug Field as president. Field previously served as a VP at Apple leading the company's unsuccessful Project Titan autonomous car effort, was Tesla's chief vehicle engineer during Model 3 development, and most recently served as Ford's EV chief. The hire is seen as a major coup for Scaringe's robotics venture, bringing one of the auto industry's most experienced electric vehicle and autonomous systems executives into the project.
