Tropical Storm Trudy formed in the Eastern Pacific and was located several hundred miles south of Acapulco, Mexico, as of 9pm CST October 14, 2026, with maximum sustained winds of about 70 mph and a minimum central pressure of 994 mb, moving northwest at about 7-8 mph. The National Hurricane Center says Trudy is forecast to rapidly strengthen over the next day or so, and has urged interests along the coast of southwestern and west-central Mexico to closely monitor its progress. GDACS currently lists the storm at green alert level with no population yet estimated within category-1 wind-speed range, but the rapid intensification forecast raises the potential for a more serious impact on the Mexican coast in the coming days.
