Tesla held a demonstration event in Waco, Texas, showcasing its next-generation Roadster, which used SpaceX-derived thrusters to briefly fly, drive upside down, and accelerate to 60mph in under a second. The roughly 30-minute event, reminiscent of a stunt show more than a traditional product reveal, saw the car leap over several other Tesla vehicles including the Cybercab, Cybertruck, Semi, Model Y and Model 3. Elon Musk has long promised a 'flying car' version of the Roadster, and this demo was the most dramatic proof-of-concept yet, though commentators noted the production version would likely carry heavy caveats and regulatory restrictions if it ever reaches customers.
