Overnight on October 14-15, Russia launched roughly 580 drones and two Kh-59 missiles at Ukraine, with Ukrainian air defenses downing 536 of the drones; strikes still hit at least 31 locations and debris fell in 11 more. Casualties and damage were reported across the country: a drone fell in central Kyiv injuring seven people and damaging buildings, two drones hit a warehouse in Kyiv's Sviatoshynskyi district, and an attack on the Darnytsia power plant cut hot water to Kyiv's left bank. Kirovohrad region endured a more than 10-hour assault that killed three and injured six across 25 locations, a man died in Zaporizhzhia after being pulled from rubble, and strikes hit Odesa (a residential building and a supermarket), Poltava (industrial sites, a Naftogaz gas facility, and near a school), Dnipropetrovsk (killing two), Vinnytsia, Ternopil and Izium. The New York Times separately reported that Russia has prepared a plan to disable Ukraine's energy grid within a month, aiming to cut Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa off from power, water and heating as winter approaches, underscoring that the strikes form part of a broader campaign against civilian infrastructure.
