Hurricane Trudy strengthened rapidly in the Eastern Pacific, with the National Hurricane Center reporting sustained winds of about 105 mph and a central pressure of 971 mb as of late Thursday, October 15, 2026. The storm was centered roughly 230 miles southwest of Acapulco and 355 miles south-southeast of Manzanillo, moving north-northwest, with forecasters warning it is expected to continue rapidly intensifying. GDACS issued a green alert for the system, noting no population currently affected at tropical storm force, though that could change as Trudy approaches the Mexican coast. The NHC continues to issue advisories, forecast discussions and wind probability products as the storm's track and intensity are monitored closely.
