Hurricane Isaias made landfall on Florida's panhandle as a Category 2 storm late on a Friday, then weakened to a post-tropical cyclone as it moved north through the southeastern and mid-Atlantic United States. At least four deaths were linked to the storm, some from falling trees, and nearly 396,000 customers across the Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama lost power, with hundreds of thousands more affected along its path. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said no search-and-rescue requests had been received, calling it a sign residents heeded evacuation warnings. Heavy rainfall from Isaias raised flash-flooding concerns across the Appalachians and mid-Atlantic region as the storm continued north.
