Ken Kutaragi, known as the 'Father of PlayStation' for running Sony's gaming division through its first three console generations, defended Sony's announcement that it will end support for PS5 game discs in 2028. Speaking to VGC, Kutaragi said he understands why people feel they 'own' physical games but called the backlash a 'mentality issue' and said keeping discs isn't economically reasonable in a networked era.
