Activists from the Nachala movement, led by Daniella Weiss, which has long advocated Jewish settlement inside Gaza, set up an outpost near the Gaza border, Haaretz reported on October 16, 2026. The move follows a July march toward the Strip by Nachala supporters, including some cabinet ministers and coalition lawmakers, that took place despite the army withdrawing its authorization for the protest.
