Diplomatic sources told Politico that European leaders did not press Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to soften his public criticism of US President Donald Trump during the October 16 Brussels summit. Zelensky, asked whether Trump was making him a scapegoat for his own low approval ratings, declined to answer directly, and separately said he is standing up solely for Ukraine's interests. French far-right leader Marine Le Pen said she would visit Ukraine if invited to discuss aid.
