The opera Mothers of Kherson opened at Poland's National Opera on October 17, 2026, co-produced with New York's Metropolitan Opera and created in close association with Save Ukraine, a group helping to bring back Ukrainian children who remain in Russia. More than four years after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the performance aims to reawaken global interest in the ongoing conflict through artistic commemoration of the human costs of war.
