Gene Schwam, a veteran Hollywood publicist who represented Elvis Presley, Julie Andrews, Blake Edwards, Barbara Eden and Lenny Bruce, died Friday, October 16, in Los Angeles after a brief illness, at age 96. Schwam co-founded Hanson & Schwam Public Relations in 1955. His agency endured for decades, representing some of the entertainment industry's most prominent names across film and music.
