Ukraine's General Staff said Russia's total combat personnel losses since February 24, 2022 reached approximately 1,562,970 as of October 17, including 1,950 casualties over the preceding 24 hours. Separately, journalists tracking individual identities said they have confirmed the names of over 281,000 killed Russian soldiers, 15,721 more than two weeks earlier.
