The G7 agreed to allocate roughly $283 million toward repairing the New Safe Confinement at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announced. The funding covers about half the estimated 500 million euros needed to fix damage from a Russian drone strike on February 14, 2025 that punctured the arch's roof and compromised ventilation seals.
