Russian forces dropped FAB-250 aerial bombs on residential high-rises in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast, at around 03:40 on October 17, killing one person and injuring ten others, including Anatolii Hopka, a 41-year-old rescue worker who died while helping colleagues search the rubble. Eight apartment buildings were damaged in the strike, and emergency crews conducted search-and-rescue operations through the morning as part of a wider overnight Russian barrage that also hit Vinnytsia, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.
