Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to Baghdad on October 18 for the 52nd session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's council of foreign ministers, meeting Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi and OIC officials to urge Islamic solidarity and coordinated action on regional threats. Araghchi blamed Israel's occupation as the root cause of insecurity in West Asia, offered Iran's assistance to end the Saudi-Yemen conflict, and said Tehran could object to any OIC resolution on Yemen that lacks balance, while Iraqi political leader Ammar al-Hakim separately called for dialogue to end the regional war.
