An Austrian Airlines flight from Tel Aviv to Vienna carrying 57 people made an emergency landing in Sofia, Bulgaria, on October 18 after a bomb threat was reported, with Bulgaria's air force scrambling a MiG-29 to escort the aircraft. Passengers were evacuated and the Airbus A320 was searched, with Haaretz reporting the threat came from an Austrian national who was not on the flight. The Israel Air Force said the incident occurred outside Israeli airspace and that it was not involved or required to act.
