Pavel Prigozhin, son of late Wagner founder Yevgeny Prigozhin, has retained control of roughly 500 Wagner fighters in the Central African Republic and expanded the group's mining and security business generating about $400 million a year, the Wall Street Journal reported, as cited by Meduza and Kyiv Post on October 19. The group has resisted efforts by Russia's Defense Ministry and its Africa Corps to fully absorb Wagner's operations following Prigozhin's death.
