Ukraine appointed a new commander of the Third Army Corps as Andrii Biletskyi took charge of Center forces, with Rohoziuk, former commander of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade, taking over the corps that Ukrainian forces say reclaimed 277 square kilometers and liberated 16 settlements in the Lyman sector. Biletskyi explained the offensive, codenamed Operation Vivaldi, was named for its four planned stages, an idea from two officers, one of whom was killed and the other seriously wounded. Biletskyi also said Russia has abandoned its plan to outflank Donetsk Oblast via Barvinkove after Ukrainian forces destroyed a bridgehead and defeated Russia's 144th Division during the operation.
