Developer Unknown Worlds announced that Subnautica 2 is heading toward an 'Early Access 2.0' milestone, which will introduce what the studio calls one of the scariest regions it has ever created, PC Gamer reported October 20, 2026. The update represents a major content expansion for the game's early access period as the studio continues building out the underwater survival sequel.
