The IDF and Shin Bet announced on October 20 that a strike killed Tamer Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Zabaq, the final Hamas member involved in the October 7, 2023 abduction of Shani Louk, along with a senior operative in the group's general security apparatus and his wife, among seven Gazans reportedly killed that day. Al-Zabaq had continued advancing attacks against Israeli troops and attempting to rebuild Hamas infrastructure in Gaza after October 7. The announcement came the same day Shani Louk's father, Nissim Louk, withdrew from Israel's Knesset race and endorsed candidate Ofer Winter.
