Comcast is preparing significant job cuts in its cable and telecom business ahead of the planned spin-off of NBCUniversal in 2027, with CFO Jason Armstrong telling investors the company expects to take a restructuring charge of more than $1 billion in the fourth quarter. The announcement came during Comcast's third-quarter 2026 earnings call. The quarter was buoyed by advertising tied to Telemundo's World Cup coverage and strength at streaming service Peacock, but revenue dipped across most of the company's cable-and-media business as it faces broader structural challenges.
