Israel's Foreign Ministry condemned eastern Libya's parliament for ratifying a maritime jurisdiction memorandum with Turkey, saying on October 21 that the deal infringes on the sovereign rights of its allies and accusing Ankara of working to destabilize the eastern Mediterranean. Egypt separately declared the agreement 'null and void,' reaffirming its own maritime pact with Greece and saying the Libyan ratification carries no legal effect.
