Russian forces carried out roughly 60 strikes on Ukraine's energy and oil-and-gas infrastructure over three days leading into October 22, hitting a television and radio station and energy facility in Poltava region, critical infrastructure in Zhytomyr and Dnipro, warehouses in Kropyvnytskyi, and a Naftogaz gas production facility in Kharkiv Oblast that left 30,000 consumers without power. Naftogaz's acting CEO said the company's facilities had been struck more than 400 times since the start of 2026, twice the rate of the prior year. Ukrainian energy companies urged international partners to speed up air-defense assistance and sanctions pressure ahead of winter.
