Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the army to prepare for a full closure of the occupied West Bank on October 23, 2026 after Israeli soldiers shot and killed two men the military said had launched a terror attack near Hebron. Five Israeli civilians were wounded and evacuated to hospitals in the incident. The closure order comes at a time of heightened tensions in the West Bank and four days before Israel's general election.
