The United Nations warned on Friday, October 23, that time is running out to deliver aid to Taiz, Yemen's third-largest city, which has been besieged by Houthi fighters for 20 days, blocking the road linking it to Aden, the seat of Yemen's internationally recognized government. The UN called for safe, sustained and unimpeded humanitarian access, saying essential supplies are urgently needed as the siege continues to cut off the city.
