Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered security forces to cordon off and impose widespread closures across the occupied West Bank following attacks by Palestinian gunmen that killed two Israeli soldiers near Hebron on October 24, 2026. Netanyahu visited the site of the attack and instructed immediate military operations in response to the violence. The Palestinian Authority called for international pressure on Israel after reporting that around 1,200 Palestinians in Hebron were forced to leave their homes following the attack, with the head of Hebron's municipality saying an additional 1,300 may also be forced to leave, displacing up to 2,500 residents.
