Yemen's Houthis launched a wave of missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia over the weekend of October 24-25, 2026, targeting Riyadh, Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu and Dammam airports and oil facilities, while the Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting multiple ballistic missiles and drones. Saudi civil defence issued and then lifted several danger alerts for Mecca, Medina and Jeddah, and Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport reopened two terminals on October 25 after a two-week closure, even as the Houthis renewed warnings that the airport remains a military target. The exchanges have caused casualties on both sides: Houthi-linked media said a Saudi strike on Hodeidah killed five members of one family and that strikes on Sanaa killed 11 people, while Saudi authorities reported missile debris falling in several cities after interceptions. The Houthis denied Saudi claims they targeted Mecca and Medina directly, and explosions were also reported in Aden. The United States updated travel advisories for Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel citing the threat of expanding Houthi aggression.
