More than 100,000 people gathered in Tel Aviv's Hostage Square on October 24, 2026, three days before Israel's election, in a protest organized by the October Council demanding an independent commission of inquiry into the failures surrounding the October 7 Hamas attack. Opposition leaders joined bereaved families and former hostages at the rally, one of the largest anti-Netanyahu demonstrations in the campaign. A 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attacking a bodyguard of former prime minister Naftali Bennett during the event, and police increased their presence amid fears of disruption by right-wing activists. Separately, Haaretz reported that Shin Bet agents summoned an anti-government activist for questioning on his wedding day, which he described as an intimidation attempt.
