A nonprofit focused on primate rescue and conservation in Indonesia has rescued 53 orangutans from forest and peatland fires burning across Borneo. Good News Network reported that many of the rescued animals are being rewilded to forest preserves across the island. The fires are endangering air quality for people and wildlife and destroying food supplies for critically endangered orangutans.
