Migrants in Calais still risk Channel crossings to Britain a decade after the Great Jungle camp was dismantled. France 24 reported that dozens of smaller camps are now scattered along a wider stretch of the coastline and are cleared about every 48 hours on average. Residents still aim to reach the United Kingdom despite the dangers posed by small boats. The Great Jungle, which held thousands of migrants, took authorities seven days to dismantle in 2016.
