Australian billionaire James Packer reportedly paid the law firm defending Netanyahu $1.25 million over two years, the Sydney Morning Herald reported on October 26. The payments were reportedly $50,000 a month and began weeks after Packer and the lawyer renewed contact. Packer, a witness in Netanyahu's Case 1000 trial, said the payments were unrelated to the trial and that the firm represents him in personal and business affairs. Haaretz and the Times of Israel reported the same figures.
