Jordan's air force struck suspected militant hideouts in southern Syria on October 26 after linking last week's church attackers to terrorist groups. The Friday attack on a Greek Orthodox church in the village of Hmoud killed nine people and wounded 40. Jordan arrested three suspects after a shootout, and no group has claimed responsibility. Syrian authorities did not immediately comment, and it was not clear whether the strikes were coordinated with Damascus; Haaretz reported that Syria said they were not coordinated, while the Times of Israel reported Syria's toll from the strikes at eight dead.
