A shipwreck off Turkey's coast may be the oldest ever discovered, dating to about 4,500 years ago, the era of the Egyptian pyramids. Its surviving pottery cargo points to an ancient Mediterranean trade network. Researchers believe the wooden ship may have crashed against rocks during a storm while carrying goods such as oil, wine or resin.
