Alexander Kondratov, a production designer charged with treason in Russia, died at a Moscow hospital after being transferred from pretrial detention, a rights group said. Department One counted his death as at least the 11th this year among people prosecuted in politically motivated cases. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Kondratov was known for his work on the 2007 detective drama Liquidation.
