Political scientist Alexander Kynev, held in pretrial detention on drug sale charges, has started a hunger strike, the legal advocacy project Slovo Zashchite reported. The strike was reportedly prompted by an inaccessible toilet in an overcrowded cell. His lawyer said the protest was ongoing as of October 26.
