Financial Times says Black Sea has become the world's most dangerous shipping route

The Financial Times reported that Russia's full-scale war has made the Black Sea the most dangerous waters for commercial shipping in the world. At least 40 sailors have died there since the start of 2026, compared with 24 in the Strait of Hormuz. Attacks on ports and vessels have also disrupted shipping, and Turkey has sought a maritime security deal that a Russian diplomat said has no prospect of revival.
