Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets announced a synchronized local ceasefire in occupied Oleshky starting Oct. 27 at 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time to allow evacuation and a humanitarian mission. Zelensky said Russia would try to push residents toward Russian territory, possibly by clearing only certain routes of mines. Ukraine's National Guard drones delivered over 600 kg of baby food and toys to about 1,700 trapped civilians, and Lubinets asked for information on people needing help. A former resident warned people may not survive the winter. The White House said Melania Trump brokered the ceasefire, and she said of a Ukraine visit, we will see.
