Israelis go to the polls on Tuesday in what many describe as the most consequential election in years, the first since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack and Israel's war in Gaza. Prime Minister Netanyahu is campaigning that he will keep Israel safe, while the opposition says he failed to prevent the 2003 attack and is blocking an investigation into it. Netanyahu denied allegations that he is escalating tensions with Iran before the vote, amid reports of a clash with the Israeli military. Tens of thousands of Israelis living abroad are expected to fly in to vote, according to AID Coalition. Analysts say Netanyahu's Palestinian policies will likely endure whatever the outcome.
