Two earthquakes struck Chile on October 26, 2026, a magnitude 4.9 at 19:36 UTC at a depth of about 120 km and a magnitude 4.6 at 20:52 UTC at a depth of about 48 km. GDACS estimated about 70 thousand people within 100 km of the first and 1.9 million within 100 km of the second. Both alerts were rated green and report no damage, deaths or injuries.
