The US Embassy in Riyadh urged non-emergency US government employees and their family members to leave Saudi Arabia, citing safety risks. In a post on X, the embassy said the State Department ordered the departures effective October 23, 2026. US government employees working in the kingdom now need special authorisation from the Chief of Mission to use any airport in the country, following attacks on airports.
