NASA Johnson Space Center engineer Daniel Cohen, who works on guidance, navigation and control, is being recognized for his mentorship of Rice University student Malvika Bhardwaj. Bhardwaj recalled that when she asked whether he had time to keep teaching interns given his heavy workload, he replied, "You decide what's important." NASA published her reflection on October 27, 2026, in honor of National Mentoring Day, describing how Cohen's guidance shaped her approach to her work.
