Iraqi Prime Minister al-Zaidi arrived in Syria for a landmark summit with Syrian President Sharaa, the first of its kind since the ouster of Bashar al-Assad. The Jerusalem Post reported that Sharaa stressed Syria's role as a trade corridor for Iraq. The two sides discussed security and trade, citing links between Iraq's Faw Port and Syria's Mediterranean port of Tartous.
