Jewish artifacts looted by the Nazis on Kristallnacht have returned to Berlin after a Holocaust survivor exchanged everyday goods for them, The Times of Israel reported on October 28, 2026. The survivor traded Crisco, coffee and cigarettes for a Torah sash and an ark cover, then brought them to the United States, where they went on display in Phoenix. The objects' return marks a rare recovery of property taken during the Holocaust.
